MACROMILL, INC. (the “Company”) contributes to society by providing information about consumer awareness and behavior to corporations and organizations through market research, public opinion surveys, social research, and medical related surveys (collectively, “Marketing Research”).
This Personal Information Protection Policy (this “Policy”) sets forth the guidelines for the Company to appropriately protect and manage the personal information of its shareholders, business partners (including customers), and survey respondents (individuals who participate in Marketing Research conducted by the Company through methods such as responding to questionnaires, participating in interview surveys, or using applications provided by the Company - including cloud and other services provided by third parties - in connection with services for Macromill monitors and related services).
This Policy will apply to customers located in Japan, and the “Global Privacy Policy” will apply to customers located outside of Japan.
Each provision hereof has been prepared with the Japanese to be the original. If there is any inconsistency between a provision prepared in Japanese and the English translation provided by the Company or the contents of a translation to another language, the provision in Japanese will prevail.
Unless otherwise provided in this Policy, the definitions of terms used in this Policy will be in accordance with the definitions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
The Company acquires personal information for clearly specified purposes by proper and fair manners, and uses personal information only to the extent necessary to achieve such purposes. When using the same beyond this extent, the Company will obtain prior consent from the data subjects. The Company does not handle personal information beyond the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use, and takes necessary measures to ensure compliance with this principle. Upon providing personal information to a third party, the Company will obtain prior consent from the data subject, unless this Policy stipulates otherwise.
The Company prevents and rectifies unauthorized access to, and the loss, destruction, falsification, leakage, or other compromise of, personal information by taking organizational, human, physical, and technical security measures against such risks.
Upon handling personal information, the Company complies with domestic laws and regulations about personal information protection, guidelines stipulated by the governing authorities, the Marketing Research Code of Conduct and the Marketing Research Industry Guidelines for Protection of Personal Information stipulated by the Japan Marketing Research Association (the “JMRA”), along with other relevant rules.
To implement this Policy appropriately and effectively, the Company has established and operates a personal information protection management system (the “PMS”). To further enhance the effectiveness of the PMS, the Company provides training to all of its employees and audits the operation of the PMS for continuous review and improvement.

As for the personal data held by the Company, the Company will promptly handle requests from the data subject or their representative to notify the purposes of use of, disclose, correct (including making additions to or deleting part of), suspend the use of (including suspending third-party provision of and erasure), or disclose the record of provision to a third party of, such personal information.
The Company strives to protect personal information by ensuring that its officers and employees fully understand the purposes and intent of this Policy and conduct daily operations with the greatest care.
The Company may change this Policy due to any amendments to the laws or regulations, etc., the Company’s business operational needs, or any other circumstances. In the case of making the said change, the Company will publicize such change in an appropriate manner.
