Research and Dissemination of Global Research Knowledge MGRI (Macromill Global Research Institute)

The Macromill Global Research Institute (MGRI) is engaged in research, development and the communication of information that helps expand online and other marketing research and enhance its quality to facilitate the establishment of data-utilization cultures within businesses and other organizations conducting marketing activities in overseas markets, especially in East and Southeast Asian markets.
Through these activities, it aims to serve Japanese and other regions' businesses, society and entire markets in Japan and Asia.

Members

  • Advisor Yoshihiro Oishi (Emeritus Professor, Meiji University)

    His area of specialization is global marketing. He has held many positions, including president of the Japan Society for Distributive Science, vice president of the Japan Academy of Multinational Enterprises, executive director of the Japan Academy of International Business Studies, and director of the Transcultural Management Society. Currently, he is a founder and honorary adviser (representative facilitator until the end of March 2026) of the Global Marketing Workshop, which has more than 3,900 members. His many published works and papers include Jissenteki Global Marketing (Practical Global Marketing), Global Marketing Zero, Nihon Kigyo no Global Marketing (Global Marketing of Japanese Firms) and Global Brand Kanri (Global Brand Management).

  • Director of MGRI Kimitaka Nishibe (Senior Executive Officer, Head of Business Operations)

    Graduated from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Tokyo University of Science. After working as an engineer, joined Interscope Inc. in 2006. Joined Macromill upon business integration in 2010 after working at Yahoo Value Insight Inc. Engaged extensively in quantitative and qualitative research planning, analysis, and proposal activities as a researcher within multiple industries. Appointed as a Vice President (now Executive Officer) in 2018, overseeing the business divisions of sales, researchers, and operations teams. Serving in the current position since July 2025.

  • Senior Fellow Shinji Kumagai (Macromill Global Research Institute)

    After working at a comprehensive marketing research firm, joined Macromill in 2011. Following his work as a marketing researcher on numerous projects in domestic and global research, became a research planner in the Global Research Division in 2019. In 2023, founded Macromill Global Research Institute (MGRI) to accelerate R&D in global research and data analysis. Also actively engaged in a wide range of fields, including industry-academia collaboration in education and academic research, sharing insights through marketing-related media, and serving as a committee member of an industry association. His principal publication includes Global Marketing Research no Kangaekata (The Approach to Global Marketing Research) (2025, Hakuto-Shobo).
